About Billie
Lanéya Billingsley aka Billie0cean, is an experimental filmmaker , sound designer, curator, graphic designer and overall creative based in the bay area. With a background in animation, theatre, and video, Billie's work is water for the heart and sugar for our melancholy. Bubblegum Afro futurism with brass knuckles and bedroom eyes, pulling you inward towards the places you neglect. Billie’s conceptual video and photo work pushes the boundaries of storytelling, transmuting the spiritual-emotional, creating imagery and installations that expands into a full sensory experience, creating an accessible bridge between the external and internal worlds. Billie has collaborated with artist across the US and Europe and has as well shown work/screened films in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London, Ireland and Germany.
